Let’s create a world where children and teens fold digital media into their lives without harm to their mental health or conflict at home.
It’s time to end the teen mental health crisis...
…and prevent the next one by giving parents and children the media literacy skills they need to navigate an ever-expanding digital landscape.
We build foundational media literacy skills that create lasting change
Children, teens, and parents need more than ‘tips’ and ‘advice.’ They need practical skills to make balanced, educated assessments of what (and who) they engage with online. Ready Set Screen’s approach to media literacy develops those skills, with programs built on:
- 20 years of experience in delivering media literacy education with proven, positive outcomes for teens
- Partnerships with experts in child, teen, and family psychology alongside experienced educators and media professionals
- Active participation by children and teens our programs are designed to help, ensuring relevance and efficacy
- Complete independence and objectivity, with no ties to the companies fueling the teen mental health crisis
The problem is only growing
Leading American pediatric health organizations have declared a national emergency in children’s mental health, with social media and smartphones widely considered significant contributors to the crisis.
Our first solution:
The Social Media Driver’s License
Developed with experts across multiple fields in adolescent development, as well as a group of teen advisors, the Social Media Driver’s License gives young people ages 10-14 the skills they need to be safe and smart on social media and smartphones, while giving parents the tools to guide them.

Phone bans in schools: What the kids think
Teens say school phone bans aren’t the answer. They want education, digital literacy skills, and parental guidance—not blanket restrictions.

Introducing the Social Media Driver’s License
Ready Set Screen launches The Social Media Driver’s License — a program that uses media literacy to prepare kids 10-14 for smartphones and social media.

Ending the teen mental health crisis isn’t Meta’s priority, so it has to be ours
Meta’s internal research shows teens viewing more body-focused content report worse self-image, but the company won’t act—so prevention is up to parents.
